Services

BirdSightings-Perú includes all services detailed in each of its programs and guarantees their full provision. If your trip includes accommodation, breakfast is included (this may vary depending on the hotel category).

⚠️ Important: The accommodation price does not include the 18% tax applicable to Peruvian residents. To qualify for a tax exemption, travelers must present their original passport along with the ORIGINAL immigration card. If these documents are not provided, the hotel may charge this percentage based on the published rate.

  • Airport taxes (domestic and international)
  • Domestic or international flights not arranged by BirdSightings-Perú
  • Excess baggage fees
  • Visits and activities not specified in the itinerary
  • Alcoholic beverages, bottled water, or rehydration drinks
  • Meals not explicitly mentioned in the program
  • Tips for staff (optional)
  • Laundry services
  • Travel insurance
  • Additional expenses caused by events beyond our control
  • We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance that covers accidents, damages, emergency evacuations, lost luggage, itinerary changes, and missed connections.
  • Any additional costs incurred due to changes or modifications in the program caused by external factors (such as flight cancellations or delays, health issues, adverse weather conditions, strikes, or natural disasters) must be covered by the traveler.
  • BirdSightings-Perú will provide the necessary documentation to support insurance claims, as long as it is feasible to obtain from providers.

Services

Cancellations

✨ Company Cancellations

BirdSightings-Perú reserves the right to cancel a trip under the following circumstances:

  • Non-payment: If the client fails to make the full payment at least 60 days before arrival. In this case, the initial deposit will not be refunded.
  • External causes: Events beyond our control that prevent the trip from taking place (e.g., strikes, protests, flight cancellations, adverse weather conditions, overbooking by hotels or airlines).

➝ In such cases, BirdSightings-Perú will propose possible solutions to operate the program, but additional expenses are not covered by the company.

✨ Client Cancellations

  • If you decide to cancel your trip, you must notify us in writing, stating the reason for cancellation.
  • The initial deposit paid at confirmation is non-refundable under any circumstance.

Cancellation Penalties

If cancellation occurs within 60 days prior to the start of the trip, the following penalties apply:

  • More than 60 days prior: Loss of the initial deposit.
  • Between 60 and 31 days prior: 50% of the total trip cost.
  • Between 30 and 16 days prior: 75% of the total trip cost.
  • 15 days or fewer prior to arrival: 100% of the total trip cost, provided suppliers allow it.
